The SF Bay Area

Heading To SF

The San Francisco bay area, where we used to live, is a couple of hours away, by car. We make a lot of trips there. Franz, sometimes, goes there to take courses from U. C. Berkeley. On some of those weekends, we all go, usually we visit the Hiller Aviation Museum on the grounds of the San Carlos airport. We attend Maker Faire in San Mateo, every year. We love San Francisco, and like to visit the Zoo, Union Square, The Exploratorium, and the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. We always enjoy having a sushi lunch and visiting the shops in Japantown. Chinese food is great in Chinatown, and North Beach has great espresso and pizza. We like to walk off the some of the calories on the beach in Sunset, and usually at sunset, and see the seals on the rocks near Cliff House.

The first time we attended the Indonesia Day celebration, held each year in Union Square, we visited the concession booth operated by Jayakarta Restaurant, from Berkeley. Since then, we make a point to stop there for dinner, at least once, on either the inbound or outbound leg of each trip to the bay area.
